RALPH & MARGARET (McBRIDE) MARLING
Contributed by:
Lori Hellmund

It is possible that this photograph is the wedding portrait of Ralph Marling and his bride, Margaret McBride Marling. They were married on July 4, 1895 in Columbus. Ralph Elliott Marling was the son of John and Susan (Elliott) Marling, born February 28, 1872 in Guernsey County, Ohio. While he was still a child the family moved to Columbus. Ralph and Margaret had two children, Chester Wilson Marling and Gladys (see also additional photos), before Margaret's untimely death in 1908 (see her portrait). After his wife's death Ralph moved with his children to Indiana where he was employed for a while by the Dodge Manufacturing Company in Mishuwaka. Later he moved to Elkhart where he remained until his death on December 30, 1938, just two days after the death of his father in Columbus (Ralph's Obituary).
