Dorothy Comer has this to say about the photo, "The attached picture was passed on to me from my late aunt, Mary Weaver Miller of Hilliard. I do not know where it was taken, probably in Franklin County, but there are no photographer credits on it. Written on the back is "Grannie McDaniels, died in 1869, age 113. Grandma Hommon's grandmother. Sister of Lord Cornwallis."  Dorothy adds the following information:
We think "Grannie" McDaniel is the mother of Elizabeth Hommon McDaniels (obit attached), who was named Nancie, but have not been able to prove it. I'm hoping that perhaps someone out there might have a lead in Maryland.
Obituary for Mrs. Elizabeth Hommon:
On last Thursday, Mrs. Elizabeth Hommon died at her home in Norwich Township near Hilliard.

Elizabeth McDaniels was born at Hagerstown, MD, February 13, 1823 and departed this life April 16, 1896, age 78 years, 2 months and 3 days.

She moved to Muskingum County, Ohio, in 1824, locating twelve miles west of Zanesville. She was married to Jonathan Hommon on July 23, 1840, and moved to Franklin County in 1845. To their union were born eleven children, six boys and five girls, of whom five are left to mourn her demise.

In her early life she united with the Christian church and has ever since lived a devoted Christian life. She joined the M.E. church Feb 12, 1868, under the Rev. Bright's pastorage.
Note from Dolores Homan Clark:
There is no name of the newspaper that published this obituary. It was probably a local paper.
Additional notes from Dolores Homan Clark:
The death certificate for Elizabeth is apparently recorded as Elizabeth Hammon. Someone has typed on the side of the copy I have that her maiden name was McDaniels. She was orphaned and taken in by the Mc_______ (the rest of the name is missing). The death certificate states her father was John McDonald, mother was Nancie E. (someone has written "Elizabeth?").

Source: death certificate in the Franklin County Probate Court of Ohio: For Elizabeth Hammon. Died April 15, 1896, widowed, age 73 yrs., 2 months, 1 day. Place of birth: Maryland. White. Cause of death: old age. Place of residence: Hilliard.
