Broadway Cemetery, on the east edge of the village of the same name, is relatively new when compared to other cemeteries in Union County. It is still in use and many of the names on newer stones are the same as those found on the oldest stones. Feel free to write to to request high resolution photographs of any stones located in the cemetery. There were a few new foundations poured and we will return to photograph the gravestones on those foundation in the spring/summer (2010). The 1883 Beers History of Union County, Ohio has tells us (page 682):
Broadway Cemetery, which is located just eas of the village of Broadway, consists of one acre of ground, which was deeded to the Township Trustees, by P. Cranston, Esq., in 1874; Mr. Cranston also deeded one-half of an acre to be used as a road leading to said cemetery. The cemetery is laid off into lots, and two drive was pass through it. This is now becoming the principal burial place for the village and vicinity.
The cemetery is considerably larger now that the one acre originally deeded to the township. Cemetery Road is on the south side of State Route 347 on the east side of the village of Broadway.
