Wright Cemetery is located on the east side of Glade Run Road, about .3 of a mile south of Route 40.  To reach the cemetery from I-70 take exit 80 (St. Rt. 29) and turn on St. Rt. 29 (Urbana-West Jefferson Road) to Byerly Road; turn right on Byerly to Route 40.  At Route 40 turn right again and go to Glade Run Road, turn right for .3 mile. The Hisotry of Madison County, Ohio, (W. H. Beers & Co., Chicago, 1883) page 661 has this to say about the cemetery, ". . . up the Glade Run, a little south of the National Road is located the Wright Cemetery. This has always been a family burying place and contains the remains of the ancestors of the Wright family, and a few deceased persons of the immediate neighborhood." Only a couple of gravestones could be identified for the wright family, and of the thirty-five plus gravestones on this page over half of them could not be identified at all. It's obvious that the cemetery has been restored as well as it could be, but time and weather have taken their toll. Many of the stones have been broken, but it's hard to know if that was done by vandals, machinery, or animals. What seems to have been the earliest stones are limestone and have become illegible over time even though most of them seem to have have been unbroken. Fully half of the fenced area of the cemetery has no evidence of any stones.
