Gravestone Photographs

Established in about 1926, Forest Grove Cemetery is a well tended and still active cemetery.  It is located in a beautiful rural area just south of Plain City.  The cemetery is less than a quarter mile east of Plain City-Georgesville Road on Cemetery Pike.  Phone: (614) 873-5618. Since Plain City is divided almost down the middle by the Madison and Union County line there are many buried here who spent their entire lives in Union County. (Map)

The Union County Chapter, Ohio Genealogical Society published a book of tombstone readings in 2000. A MAP showing the cemetery sections is included and is used here with permission. The readings were begun in each section at the southeast corner, reading north, and working west. The circle section was read from the center working right. Triangle 1 (T1) is at the southwest side of the circle and Triangle 2 (T2) is at the northwest side of the circle. Section 1A consists of one row running the length of the section.
