Galena, "Founded by, Gilbert Carpenter, in 1809 between Big, and Little Walnut, Creeks for milling purposes."  More specifically, Galena is located southwest of Sunbury at the north end of Hoover Reservoir.  The Galena Cemetery is near the south end of the village.
