Gravestone Photographs

Tiny Mitchell Cemetery is located on a hill top at the southwest corner of Emerald Parkway and Dublin Road.  The land once belonged to the Mitchell family, early Franklin County Pioneers.   The property is now owned by Cardinal Health, Inc.  It is surrounded by a black iron fence that is visible in some of the photos.  The gate is in the south-west corner of the cemetery.  There are several large trees that allow very little sunlight into the cemetery.  See also, Charles Mitchell biographical sketch (with portraits), from History of Franklin & Pickaway County, Ohio (Williams Bros. 1880)

Personal footnote:  This cemetery has limited access for the public as it is on private property.  We returned to re-photograph the stones on October 31, 2003 and found some of the stone broken.  Even limiting access doesn't stop the ravages of time and vandals.
