George Gilbert was the son of Henry and Sarah (Gosnell) Gilbert.

George W.⁴ Gilbert (Henry W.³, Thomas L.², Peter R.¹) was born 08 Feb 1874 in Franklin Co., Ohio, and died 09 Jul 1948 in Franklin Co., Ohio. He married Alta Mae Holmes 26 Nov 1902 in Hilliards, Franklin County, Ohio, daughter of Frank Holmes and Ida Snyder. She was born 10 Mar 1878 in Ohio, and died 06 Aug 1943 in Franklin County, Ohio.  Both George W. Gilbert and his wife are buried at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard, Franklin County, Ohio.

ii.  Marjorie Mae Gilbert, b. 22 Mar 1913; d. 22 Dec 2000, Marysville, Union County, Ohio; m. Emerson Eugene Armstrong, 14 May 1936 in Franklin County, Ohio; he was b. 24 Aug 1907, Franklin County, Ohio; d. 01 Aug 1997, Marysville.  Both are buried Watkins Cemetery, Mill Creek Township, Union County, Ohio
