DEATHS AND FUNERALS Columbus Dispatch, The (OH) - Sunday, June 4, 2000 BROWN John Q . Brown Sr., M.D., age 90, a lifelong resident of Columbus and Upper Arlington, died Thursday, June 1, 2000 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon for over 50 years and was on staff at White Cross and Riverside Methodist Hospitals. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Campbell Brown ; son, John Q . Brown Jr. and wife, Prasopporn Y. (Na) of Col- umbus; daughters, Marjorie M. Brown , Columbus, Julia G. Brown and husband, Mitchell Wagner of San Diego, Calif., Ann C. Brown and her husband, Kenneth Holroyd of Athens, Oh.; granddaughter, Kathryn B. Holroyd. Graduate of East High School, Columbus and The Ohio State University, where he was a member of Delta Chi and O.S.U. College of Medicine, where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Kappa. Veteran U.S. Army as a Major during WW II serving the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of First Congregational Church, member and Senior Past Master of Humboldt Lodge 476 F&AM, 33 Degree Mason, Temple Chapter, Columbus Council, Mt. Vernon Commandery 1, Thrice Past Potentate of ENOCH Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rite, Aladdin Temple Shrine and the Medical Unit and Past Sovereign of St. Jerome Conclave, Knights of Red Cross of Constantine. Dr. Brown was a member of American Medical Association and Columbus Orthopaedic Society. Also a member of Columbus Athletic Club, formerly a member of University Club and Co- lumbus Maennerchor and former member of Downtown Rotary Club, 1954-1994. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2000 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where Masonic Service will be held 7 p.m. Monday. A memorial service will follow.
