Elmer Ellsworth and Mary Etta (Adkins) Helwagen

This photograph was taken in the 1930s. Elmer Ellsworth Helwagen, born 11 Oct 1864, died 5 Nov 1940, was the son of Bernhart & Sidney (Walston) Helwagen. He was a Pickaway County Commissioner and a Deer Creek Township Trustee, as well as a prominent farmer in the area for many years. More can be found about him in History of Pickaway County, Ohio and Representative Citizens, edited and compiled by Hon. Aaron R. Van Cleaf, Chicago, 1906, pages 581-582. Mary Etta Adkins, born 24 Feb 1868, died 8 Jan 1951, was the daughter of David Adkins & his wife, Christena Runkle. Both are buried at Forest Cemetery Centerville, Ohio.
