On July 7, 1931, someone shot and killed Harry C. Beasley as he patroled his beat
in Newark. His killer has never been identified. Detectives in Newark have never
forgotten Officer Beasley and his case remains open and the search for his killer
goes on.

For an excellent and recent article about the Beasley case see, "Who Killed Harry
Beasley; the Unsolved Murder of Newark's Hero Cop" by Jim Leeke in the October-
December 2004 issue of TIMELINE, a publication of The Ohio Historical Society.
