In 1817, the town of Oregon, formerly called Middletown, was
laid out by Isaac Decker.  At the session of 1830-31, the name
was chang ed from Middletown to Oregon.  In 1829, a post office

Established as Oregon Post Office on 4 February 1831, name changed
to Werts Grove Post Office on 1 November 1834. Name changed to
Grove Port Post Office on 3 June 1847, name changed to Groveport
