NOTES: DJ Hawley was born in Milford Center, OH. He came from a family of 7 children. Information on the family of George Hawley can be found in the Beer's 1883 History of Union County, OH. While living in Milford Center DJ worked as a farmer and butcher. He married in 1872. Around 1892 or 1893 DJ moved his family to Columbus, Franklin, OH where he opened a grocery at 135 W. 5th Avenue. In the first decade of the 20th century, DJ operated a Dairy North of Clinotnville called the Maple Grove Dairy. He delivered milk throughout Columbus until his retirement. DJ died at his home, 70 W. Northwood Ave. in Columbus in 1927. He was buried in Union Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin, OH.

MOTHER: Lydia DARLING B. 24 Dec 1819 in Holden, Worchester, MA. D. 7 Jan 1908 in OH
NOTES: Adeline "Addie" Smith was born in Holden, Worchester, MA while the family was on a trip to visit relatives in Holden. Addie came from a family of 5 children. Addie and DJ had 4 children, 3 of which survived infancy. She died in 1942 and was buried in Union Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin, OH.

After marriage to Frances Winkler, he moved to Buckeye Lake where he worked as a Grocer, Insurnace Salesman and Laboror/Repairman for the Local Parks. He died in 1958 and was buried in Glen Rest Memorial Park, Columbus, Franklin, OH.

DIED: 25 Jun 1965 in Delaware, Delaware, OH
NOTES: Howard graduated from Columbus North HS in 1904. He went on to attend The Ohio State University where he earned a Degree in Law, with High Honors in 1909. After his marriage he moved West, settling in Portland, Multnomah, OR. While in Oregon, he and Jessie had 3 children, 2 of which survived infancy. In 1922 Howard and family moved back to Columbus. Shortly after this he purchased a 14 acre farm in Harlem Twp, Delaware, OH. From that farm he operated a egg and dairy route in Columbus. In this time his family grew to a total of 4 children. From 1932 to about 1950 Howard served as the Justice of the Peace for Harlem Township. Howard died in 1965 and was buried in Sunbury Memorial Park, Sunbury, Delaware, OH.

NOTES: Chester operated several sucessful businesses around Columbus until his death in 1952. He operated a variety of businesses, including a grocery and confectionary. He also owned several properties, which he rented for several years. With his wife Helen Morgan he had 1 child. He was buried in Union Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin, OH.
