KAMPFER

Dr. William Russell Kampfer, age 88, of 4830 Medfield Way, Friday, Monterey Nursing Inn,
Grove City. Survived by his wife, Gertrude Ida Kampfer; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. 
Robert L. and Marian Kampfer, of Perrysburg, Ohio; daughter, Gertrude Lorene Kampfer at 
home; 4 grandsons, William N and Lynn Kampfer and Bruce A. Kampfer; 2 granddaughters, Mrs. 
Mark (Barbara) Haarbauer, Mrs. Stuart (Betty) Aubrey; 1 great-grandson, Corry Robert 
Kampfer; 1 brother, Dr. Fred C and Freda Kampfer, of San Diego, Calif.; many nieces and 
nephews. Dr. Kampfer received his D.D.S. Degree from Ohio State University, his L.L.B 
Degree from Franklin University and his Juris Doctorate Degree from Capital University.
He was a professor emeritus from Ohio State University, where he taught anatomy in the 
College of Medicine and Pharmacology in the College of Dentistry. For 45 years practiced 
dentistry in the Columbus area. He was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honorary 
Society. In his younger days he was a well known golfer in the Columbus area. Veteran of 
WW I. Member of the American Legion. The SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. 
completed funeral arrangements. The service was limited to the family and there were no 
calling hours. Burial was in Green Lawn Cemetery. Rev. James Wagner officiating. In lieu 
of flowers, Dr. Kampfer may be remembered through the Memorial Fund of Columbia Heights 
United Methodist Church, 91 Sturbridge Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43228.
