DEATHS AND FUNERALS Columbus Dispatch, The (OH) - Sunday, June 18, 2000 HARDER Ruth E . Harder , age 96, of Columbus, died June 16, 2000 at Evangelical Home, Saline, Ann Arbor, Mich. Ruth was born August 27, 1903 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Mary and Charles Young. June 23, 1932 she married Richard C. Harder who preceded her in death on February 9, 1972. She lived in Columbus her entire life except for 21 years during retirement in Port Charlotte, Florida. Ruth was a member of Church of the Messi- ah United Methodist in Westerville, Ohio. In the past she was a member of Eastern Star, many church circles, Ohio State Mothers' Club, etc. Before marriage she worked at the Columbus Citizen Newspaper and during World War II was an inspector at Ranco. Survivors include three daughters; Joan Smith (Terry) of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Barbara Bell (Rich- ard, deceased) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Linda Foster (Allan) of Westerville, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; a sister Eleanor Getreu; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by brothers Willard, Robert and Harold. A funeral service will be held at the chapel of Green Lawn Cemetery, 1000 Green Lawn Ave., Columbus, Ohio at 1 p.m. on June 21, with Rev. Terry N. Smith officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at Green Lawn Cemetery chapel at noon preceding the service. Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Messiah U.M., 51 N.
