THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH, Friday, August 15, 1913, page 3 THINKS MISS GILLARD HAD HEART TROUBLE Coroner Could Find No Evidence of Either Foul Play or Suicide in Drowning Case. The belief that the death of Miss Caryl Gillard, 1112 Summit street, whose body was found floating in Buckeye Lake, Wednesday afternoon, was due to organic heart tro- uble, was expressed Friday morning by Coroner Wiyiarch of Licking county. Since the finding of the body, the coroner has run down several clues that seemed to hint either at suicide or foul play, but none of them materialized. It is the opin- ion of Dr. Wiyiarch that the girl was walking along the edge of the lake and when seized with the heart attack, fell into the water. The coroner and other officials traced several rumors to the effect that a boy had seen a strange man push the girl into the lake, but was unable to obtain any verifi- cation. He places no credence in the story. Neither does he believe the victim of the drowning committed suicide. Miss Gillard's funeral will be held from the Third Avenue M. E. church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in Green Lawn. The body was brought to Columbus Thursday evening.
