He died at Columbus on March 21, 1854, aged eighty-one years and six 
months. His remains were buried in the North graveyard alongside his 
wife Fannie [Armstrong], who had passed away on Christmas day, 1843, 
at the age of fifty-eight years. When the burying-ground was 
abandoned a few years ago the remains of the pioneer couple were 
removed to Greenlawn, where they now rest, marked by the original
