Gravestone Photographs

We photographed (with permission) the State New Insane Cemetery on 7 April 2002.   It is one of three similar state cemeteries and is nearest the present day Twin Valley Psychiatric Center.  It is very close to Rhoads Park and is directly west of the railroad tracks. The cemetery can only be seen from the highway when there are no leaves on the trees and undergrowth.  Then you can get a quick glance at it as you go under the Broad Street exit sign when traveling east bound on Interstate 70.  You can't miss the railroad track with a train passing in the picture above, and if you look hard you can see the exit sign on the upper right hand side of the photo.  There are 113 gravestones all with names and at least partial dates; all for men.  It appeared that all the graves are marked, and the cemetery is well cared for.
