Columbus Firsts

The first newspaper in Columbus was begun by P. H. Olmsted, Joel Buttles, and Ezra Griswold, jr. when they purchased the WESTERN INTELLIGENCER, moved it to Columbus, and renamed it as the WESTERN INTELLIGENCER AND COLUMBUS GAZETTE.--Martin, HISTORY OF FRANKLIN COUNTY, (Columbus 1858), page 57.
